On Thursday, January 28, 2022, Sussex VA Chamber of Commerce hosted a Town Hall for the Waverly District seat on the Sussex County Board of Supervisors.  The Town Hall event was held at the Jessica Ann Moore Foundation on School Street in Waverly.  The two candidates for the Waverly District seat on the Sussex County Board are Alfred Futrell and Sonda Parham.  The Waverly District is comprised of a portion of the Town of Waverly.

The event was open to the public, but only residents of Waverly District were able to submit questions to be answered by the two candidates.  Chamber President, Jesse Hellyer officiated the event, and Chamber Vice President, Dr. Phyllis Tolliver asked the questions.

Approximately 50 people attended the Town Hall which began with a meet & greet followed by a one-hour question and answer period.  During this time both candidates answered many questions, explained why they are running for the Waverly District seat, and asked for the event attendees' support.
